• 1975 and earlier: University officials and the Federation jointly run The Campus Centre pub. A proposal to cede operational control of the pub to the Federation of Students is submitted to the Liquor License Board.
  • January 5, 1976: The Federation of Students takes over management of the Campus Centre pub, which was previously operated jointly by the university and the Federation. The university retains the liquor licence.
  • April 12, 1976: At a Students' Council meeting, a motion is made to give the Campus Centre pub a new name: "The Hydrant." This motion is defeated.
  • This was followed up with a motion to name the pub "The CC," which was also defeated.
  • A third motion was entertained to name the pub the "Public Utility Board" and that was defeated as well.
  • Finally a motion was tabled to name the pub "The Orange Bombshelter" and rather than make a decision, Council postponed it to the next meeting.
  • May 29, 1976: The motion tabled from April was brought before Council and the name of the pub was changed to the "Orange Bombshelter."
  • September 12, 1976: Notice was given of a motion to name the pub the "C.C. Pub."
  • September 21, 1976: Council rescinded its decision to christen the pub the "Orange Bombshelter." The names "Campus Centre Pub" or "CC" are used interchangeably as references to the pub..
